Create a one-of-a-kind, personalized tour for your group! You and your group members will be treated to a guided highlights tour of a pre-arranged gallery to learn the stories and history behind the artifacts.

With self-guided visits, your group’s attendees have the opportunity to explore the Frazier History Museum at their leisure.

In 2018 the Frazier History Museum partnered with the Kentucky Distillers’ Association to develop the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Welcome Center. Located on the first floor of the Frazier and open during museum hours with no cost of admission, the KBT® Welcome Center is the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. A professional and friendly concierge service is on hand to help visitors plan their trips to bourbon distilleries around the state and navigate the hot spots of Louisville’s burgeoning bourbon, culinary and nightlife scenes.

The Spirit of Kentucky® is a one-of-a-kind visual guide to the history, craft and culture of Kentucky Bourbon, America’s only native spirit! This exhibition pays tribute to the enchanted physical features in Kentucky that lend themselves to bourbon-making: hearty grains, white oak trees and limestone filtered water. Highlights include a covered bridge experience that immerses the visitor in the sights and sounds of Kentucky, a touch-screen table stocked with a digital library of bourbon research content and a bottle hall whose vast collection will grow to include every brand of bourbon being produced in Kentucky.

Art and History

The Speed Art Museum along with the Frazier History Museum will jointly promote group tours for their respective Hunter S. Thompson exhibitions while they run contemporaneously from July 12 to September 2, 2019.
Through original print material from the campaign, photographs, and political art, Freak Power at the Frazier chronicles a little-known period in Hunter S. Thompson’s life, when he wrote prolifically about politics, the environment, drugs, and American values.

Focusing on the years between 1964 and 1974 and covering the years between the publication of Hell’s Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs through Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72, the Speed’s Gonzo! The illustrated Guide to Hunter S. Thompson exhibition will feature the work of Ralph Steadman, Annie Leibovitz, Tom Benton, and Thompson’s own photography, along with original letters and other ephemera to tell the story of the writer’s artistic partnerships.
