Owsley Brown Frazier Classic Annual Sporting Clay Tournament

Named in honor of the founder of the Frazier History Museum, his broad philanthropic investment in the Louisville community, and his lifelong love of history and the artistry of the gun, the Second Annual Owsley Brown Frazier Classic will take place on September 22, 2017 at the Elk Creek Hunt Club in Owenton, Kentucky.

The Classic will feature 12 or 20 gauge, double barrel, break action shotguns and awards will be given for the best overall score, best team score, and to the winner of the long bird competition. All levels of shooters are welcome. Participants are responsible for bringing their own shotgun to the event or procuring a rental from Elk Creek Hunt Club (please note there is a limited supply of rentals available). This is a rain or shine event.

The draw will take place at the end of the Frazier Classic, at Elk Creek Hunt Club at 5PM

Participation fees are $250/person or $1,000/team of four. Each participant will receive:

  • Swag bag;
  • Coaching assistance;
  • Golf cart (for four persons);
  • Four complimentary boxes of shells;
  • Catered lunch;
  • Complimentary beverages; and
  • Entry to awards ceremony and reception featuring Kentucky bourbon, craft beer, and hors d’oeuvres.

12:30 pm – 3:30 pm            Sporting Clay Tournament

3:30 pm – 6:00 pm              Reception featuring live music, Kentucky bourbon, craft beer, and hors d’oeuvres

4:45 pm                                 Awards Ceremony (Occurs during Reception)

The Venue

Elk Creek Hunt Club is unmatched in its world-class sporting clays facilities. Three separate courses offer 45 paved sporting clays stations in 35 shooting fields. Elk Creek’s clays courses are spread over a 2,500 acre hunting preserve which also supports the best of upland field and woodland hunting.

Over 2 million sporting clays are thrown at Elk Creek per year, placing them among the top ranked clubs in the nation. In July of 2014, Garden & Gun Magazine listed Elk Creek as one of the top five clay shooting courses in the world, stating that the five are"as beautiful as they are challenging."

An Evening with Bourbon Master, Bill Samuels, Jr.

Join us on September 20, 2017 from 6 pm - 8 pm and spend a remarkable evening at the Frazier History Museum with Bill Samuels, Jr., son of the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Maker’s Mark. Mr. Samuels will lead a tasting of Maker’s 46 and other distinctive Maker’s Mark bourbons while sharing special stories of the history of the industry.
